Recommendations of solicitor/conveyancer

Yay! Our offer has been accepted!!

Could anyone recommend us some good solicitor/conveyancer that they've worked with before? I tried getting different quotes online but still don't know who should we go for.

Is there any points we need to take note when choosing a solicitor/conveyancer? Also, we are based in Manchester, so would appreciate recommendations near us. Or does it not matter where is the solicitor/conveyancer based?

Many thanks!

Try BBH legal services based on the Wirral. I dealt with them for sale and purchase and the service was excellent.

you don't have to be local but sometimes it helps. We had to pay special delivery for some documents.

I know some people say you don't need to go with someone local, but selling/buying this time round we have used a local firm, whereas previously we used an online conveyancers who were 200 miles away, but were about a third of the price. I am the last person to advocate spending money when you don't need to (!) but the extra cost has been so, so worth it this time. The online bunch were shocking, we have now in fact discovered that they actually made several mistakes on searches and we are having to pay for expensive indemnities for these. They have also gone bust! It has also been great to be able to pop in with endless documents etc. I still feel a bit faint when I look at the bill but actually it's been worth every penny. Nowhere near you though so not actually a recommendation sorry!

I would recommend Leilah Atha at Mary Monson solicitors, based in Swinton. She was superb. Second time I have used the same firm although first experience with this particular solicitor.

Another vote for using a local solicitor - mine was actually not much more than the one line quotes but the service was superb and so very simple.

Can recommend ours. No you don't have to use one near you, we didn't. They were brilliant, can't recommend them enough, so efficient and unflappable.
