Curtains and blinds

Does anyone know if its cheaper to get someone in to measure up for curtains and blinds for a large 4 bed house with bifolds etc or go freestyle and to shop around - its gonna be time consuming and difficult to find what suits each room. How much does that sort of thing cost?

I find for small windows e.g. childrens rooms it can be cheaper to just by ready-made. For large windows it can be cheaper to get specially made ones. It depends on what your budget is but you can get some material for a few pounds so could get curtains made for £50 including the material. Where are you based? If you're south east/ London I have a good contact I can recommend.

There was a very good curtainmakers at 13 Northcross Road, East Dulwich, at least until 2006, when I left the area.
