Please recommend good stockists for bathroom sanitaryware for new en-suite.

Our loft conversion is due to commence in April and the company carrying out the work will fit the new en-suite and tile it but we have to supply the items required. The owner of the company called round the other day to catch up and go through next steps etc. During the course of the conversation, I asked how different shops compared and he said to avoid the Bathstore because for previous clients he has repeatedly had to take items back because they were faulty/parts missing etc and also not to go to Homebase and B&Q as the quality wasn't great. He did recommend two places locally that are open to both the trade and public (well used by tradesmen) and I can appreciate the benefits of a local stockist if there are queries. I have been looking at a company online called Better Bathrooms.com but haven't previously heard of them. I prefer traditional styling and as it will only be a small en-suite will only need a WC (preferably with lever flush rather than push button), hand basin on pedestal and quadrant shower cubicle for good electric shower (10.5Kw preferred) also a heated towel rail with a switch for summer flexibility. I would love some recommendations/reviews of companies you may have used.
TIA

It was a few years ago but we ordered Ideal standard (on advice of builder and friends) from a company called bathrooms365. They were v competitively priced and service was great. The quality of the goods has been good too - all still going strong and looking fairly new!

Towel rail was from screw fix though. Again good all round.

Thanks for your replies, BigBlackCatLady, interestingly enough City Plumbing was one of the local stores that the Loft Conversion Company recommended the other day! Many thanks

We recently did our bathroom and got stuff form Victoria Plumb, Victorian Plumbing and Plumbase.

All products were fine, although I changed my mind about one item, and the return charges were ridiculous for Victorian Plumbing, so if you want to but shower screen, its sitting in my shed!

If you're near London then bathroom plumbing & superstore have great prices, especially if your builder has an account with them. But they will sell to anyone, unlike howdens.

Roca are a good brand available from showrooms, internet and plumbers/ builders merchants.

I bought a white enamel steel bath from City Plumbing for £99.
