Understairs storage system

We have a small Edwardian terrace with little storage. One of the main cupboards that we need to utilise better is the understairs cupboard. We need to store the following items:
Hoover, brooms, iron, ironing board and general dry bulky housekeeping items
Tool bags
A handful of shoes
A few boxes of toys
Home office / important documents - so a small printer, stationery, passports, bank stuff etc
Some quite bulky musical instruments

I've looked at the Elfa storage system, which looked brilliant until DH pointed out that he couldn't fit the horizontal bracket the length of the cupboard (to make the most of the space) because of the stairs and he couldn't fit several lengths as we then couldn't hang the shelves...

Dh won't touch anything from Ikea (on the basis that everything else we've bought from there has fallen apart)

Does anyone know of a decent vertical shelving system or something else that works well under stairs?

It is ikea but we had the algot system under our stairs. They've improved it since with better drawers but it worked great in the space as you can design it yourself. It hasn't fallen apart and its survived a house move and being put outside in the shed and back in the house again and numerous times moving it about as we are renovating. It is worth a look.

Thank you. I'll have a look. I'm desperately trying to get DH to our local ikea to buy hangers and some other bits and bobs. It's so annoying that he's so anti Ikea!
