Anyone else waiting to exchange?

Man, I am pissed with waiting to exchange. It was supposed to be January 15th, then yesterday and now today. It's only a couple of phone calls, why wouldn't you do it at 9.00 am? I can't be the only one who finds waiting insufferable surely?!

Not waiting yet but we have just agreed the price and completion date and hoping to exchange on Monday - we need to exchange by 3rd to hand notice in on our rental. Just waiting for the solicitors to notify us that we can collect the paperwork to sign today.

What was the hold up form 15th January to today?

The vendor was taken seriously ill and was in hospital for ten days. Then there was a delay with a document needed for her purchase that no-one seemed to realise was missing. The delay yesterday was that the vendor's solicitor went home early. The waiting is awful.

Double check everything with your solicitor and ask what time of day they are planning to make the call. Then you won't end up sitting around checking your email all day like me!

When I sold my house in 2013 (we've been renting) it took so long to exchange because the buyers MC were querying every.single.thing.under.the.sun. Even on exchange day I had a call to say they were now querying if the high speed train link would be coming close by (it would be nowhere near!). Luckily got a call 2 hours later to say it was all sorted but was really stressful at the time.

Solicitor just called. DTD right now, so to speak :D

Hurray, we're due to exchange on Tuesday fingers crossed.

It didn't quite happen as expected. Further delays meant we exchanged on the 28th right at the end of the day. Phew, I am so relieved!

We were supposed to exchange yesterday, everything was in place from our side, but it didn't happen as the vendor's new purchase was missing a document or something. So frustrating! Hopefully we're good to go Monday. I don't think I can take much more stress!!
