How much do windows cost?

Has anyone had new windows done recently?

I don't particularly want to get companies out to check yet cause I don't think we can afford new windows so wondering if anyone could offer a ballpark figure?

We would want 9 windows and possibly a new front and back door. Pvc style I think? Anyone got any rough numbers?

Also is it a lot of mess getting new windows in? Do the companies tend to take the old ones away?

Thank you!

We had Everest quote for french doors and they were ridiculous, well over 2k more than the local independent supplier with a vastly superior product. Don't assume the big guys offer a good deal.

Don't go for Everest, Anglia or the like. This buy one get one free stuff is nonsense. Try and source a local company that comes recommended.

There is NO mess, I couldn't get over how quickly and efficiently they did it. All done in a day, it was fantastic.

Ours was done a while ago so can't say on price I've forgotten but I do know it was cheaper to use a local company than a national one.

Mine have just finished today. local firm were 60% of the Everest quote. Really pleased. They took the old Windows out very cleanly and I have no replastering or painting to do inside. It looks very neat.

They touched up a few bits of the render outside where it had come off. They take the old ones away and clean up.

I had 3 standard size Windows, 3 small Windows, two big bays Windows, a set of patio doors, a new porch with door and Windows and a new internal front door for £9,500.

My husband is a builder, and orders them through his local builders merchant. Have a victorian house, with very very large windows all over, have been replaced with UPVC, for about £200-£300 each, made to our size and spec. Obviously you would need to pay a builder for his time to install, but it's not really a tricky job.

got an estimate last year for a similar sized semi, and it was £3k for the windows (not doors).

local firm.

and any builder should take rubbish away, and dispose of it properly.

we had triple glazing put in last year and the biggest window (bay) was 700£.
the others where under 500.
european imports though.

I would get a few quotes from local companies, we found ours on checkatrade. Paid about £6k for all new windows, patio doors and composite front door.

We had our windows done a few years ago, was approx £150 each
