Help with kitchen paint colour please

Just had a new kitchen fitted - matt white handless wall cupboards with pale grey base units and marble worktop. Now looking for a paint to go above the upstands with possible matching glass splashback but can't decide on a colour.

I was looking at a steel grey but thought it might be too bland. DH has suggest F&B Brassica which I love but not sure I'm that brave. I am in need of your help! Then there's the flooring .....decisions, decisions.

A mid to dark grey sounds nice with the paler units. Brassica looks quite mauve (I loathe mauve) but depends on what you like.

I agree with Lelivre, a mid grey sounds smart, sleek and a lot less boring than most people who opt for white or cream. Also, perhaps slate tiles for flooring? (might be too grey......)

Think grey walls might be a bit dark and depressing, particularly if room is not very light. They say that grey is the new magnolia...

Marmite might be right. But you have already have grey units. Is there any hint of colour in the veins of the marble that you could bring out. I still think a dramatic grey would be fine...and paint is easy to change

I think F&B Brassica will tone really well with grey.

Thanks folks - have just been down to the local F&B/Little Green stockist and am now confused than ever! Millions of different greys and not one of them seems quite right. Tried two greys yesterday from Dulux, nice but wrong.

Landed up buying a Brassica matchpot which will give a go in the morning when the light is better.

Just to let you know we went with Brassica but had it made up in Little Green Intelligent Matt Emulsion which my local stockist recommended as it's very durable and washable. It looks great - well we think soGrin, tones really well with the grey. Thanks everyone.
