Water on new tarmac driveway

Had drive done on Monday. With the rain there is water on it that just sits there, not really puddles just sitting on top iyswim? Should I query it with the company, is it a drainage problem or is it the oil repelling the water?

I'd ring them up, ask them to clarify exactly what should happen to your drive when it rains, and then say 'ah but it's not doing that it's doing this' and explain - then see what they say.

oh and I'd take photos of it wet too to show them what you mean.

They've re-done the tarmac on a lot of the footpaths near me and I've noticed those little shallow pools of water when it has first been done. It then seem to stop happening after a week or two.

I don't think it's anything to worry about unless they're deep puddles.

I think that just happens with new tar, like a freshly waxed car. Whatever is coating it must dissolve or wear away through use.
