Floating oak shelves

Just wondering if anyone has any recommendations on where to get some good quality but reasonably priced shelves please?

I want to put two of about 1250mm (long) x 150mm (wide) x 300mm (thick) above my sink, as this wall is empty at the moment and I would love a big more storage. Thanks!

IKEA. We got ours from there with baskets to put in top.

Just buy some real oak
link below has 2mtrs x 606 x 28mm thick - cut them to size. you will have some left over.

By 2 sets of these per shelf - best to have 4 x supports per shelf due to size

We have done this a few time with different woods

Thanks you bryonelf - I can't find any real oak ones on the Ikea website, just oak effect? We already have the Ikea Lack shelves in our study in white and these are both too wide and too thick unfortunately.

Thanks annalouiseh - the worktops look good. How do you attach the fixings to the shelves - looks like you might need a core drill (which we don't have). Thanks.

You dont need a core drill, the shelf supports are 12mm thick.

buy one of these at 13mm,
www.ebay.co.uk/itm/like/111129830794?limghlpsr=true&hlpv=2&ops=true&viphx=1&hlpht=true&lpid=108&chn=ps&device=c&adtype=pla&crdt=0&ff3=1&ff11=ICEP3.0.0-L&ff12=67&ff13=80&ff14=108

The drill bit works on a normal drill
measure the length of the support, put tape round the drill bit and go in as far as your marker. When all 4 suppoert are on the wall and the 4 holes in the wood (all linged up) you just slot the wood on to the supports.
