As part of renovation/extension we are getting a linestone fireplace/cast iron insert and granite hearth installed. We are being quoted £350-400 to remove existing gas fire and install new one, dies this seem about right?thanks

doesn't sound too much to me - everything is so expensive these days! Good luck.

SolomanDaisy · 13/01/2015 15:35

It's about what we have paid in the past.

Griftymoo · 13/01/2015 15:57

I paid £350 for installation only so I think it sounds reasonable for removal and installation.

Thanks for that! Had another guy come round quoting £500 and I swear he was drunk!! Billet dodged there!
Booked other guy in for tomorrow, first of a number of Jon's in our renovation/extension. Will try and keep a photo commentary for those who are interested
