How to get rid of old TV cables

We moved into a new house last year and in the corner of the front room where the TV goes there's a nest of about 30 years worth of old TV cables from various different systems (rooftop aerial, Virgin cable etc.) They're all still attached to the wall. We only need the cable that comes from the Sky dish. Is it safe to just cut off the others or will I kill myself by electrocution?

There shouldn't be any power coming through them so it should be OK to just cut them all off.

However, wait for someone else to come on and say the same thing just in case I'm wrong.

I cut off the cable TV cables we didn't want with scissors and pliers a few years ago. I'm still here.
