Boiler insurance - British Gas v Home Energy Services

Anyone have any experience with both companies?

Stay well away from HES. On both occasions our boiler has packed up while we were with them, I'd have been without heating and hot water for at least two weeks had I not been able to make the repairs myself. On the second occasion with my pregnant wife in the house. Both times were in winter.

I've heard good things about BG but not used them. Definitely don't give HES your money though. They are truly appalling.

Used BG homecare for years even though I have oil fired heating! They'll do your electric and plumbing cover plus all home appliances and prioritise young children/ elderly in emergencies. Have always got my monies worth each year. Not cheap but then when the chips are down you need someone out who is trustworthy and competent in my opinion!
