Storage heaters and radiator covers?

Does anyone use radiator covers over storage heaters at all? If so how well do they work and if you've actively chosen not to why not?

you mustn't cover storage heaters, because they will overheat and the thermal fuse will melt, requiring an electrician to repair it.

this mostly happens in rental homes when people drape towels and washing on them.

We had some on ours before we changed to radiators. trouble was they got so hot they warped.
