From a long way away with no local knowledge.
We have a 14yo and a 5yo. Where would you recommend as a good location to live within about 5 miles of the city or in the city? Budget is about £275,000.
Pirmelocation and zoopla are great but not helping with local knowledge.

Hi,

I came across this thread while looking for some information on Truro schools and areas.
We are planning to move to Truro area this year. We want to buy a new built house and would appreciate an advice on these three areas:

  1. Pen An Dre in Gloweth - nearest primary schools are: Truro Learning Academy, Threemilestone, Bosvigo

  2. New development off Tregolls Road - nearest schools are: Tregolls School - an Academy, Archbishop Benson CofE

  3. Parc Hendrawna in Perranporth - nearest schools are: Perranporth Community and Goonhavern

We'd like to be somewhere walking distance from a school, park/playgrounds, local store and ideally some restaurants/coffee shops somewhere that looks nice and has a good reputation :-)

I'm looking for some advice on moving to Cornwall. My husband was born there and has longed to move back now at a stage where we can. Youngest and last daughter is 13 and wants to as well. Thinking of Truro but I am very nervous as massive move for us we live just outside of London now. Thanks all !!

We also moved from London to Truro but via Bristol two years ago. I really like Truro but I miss my friends in London and can find myself feeling a little cut off. However Truro has most of your everyday needs, plus lovely beaches 20mins away and great walks. I love Trellisick (however my children are younger than yours and I'm less clued up on teenagers and might worry they ugh too find Truro a bit tame after London).

Thanks for posting. Talk of moving has calmed down now so I've got more time to think about it. It would be a huge move for us. I'm just worried about work, making friends and what day to day life is like. It feels like a holiday romance kind of thing for my husband ? Whether the reality is going to be as good ? My husband is just fed up with the rat race here we work hard full time and still just scrape through each month.
