Need urgent oil fired Aga help - pilot light out paraffin like smell what do I do?

We've moved into a new house and the pilot light on the oil fired aga has gone out and there's a paraffin like smell in the kitchen. Any idea what I do? Is it safe? How do I shut it down? We've got plenty of oil so it's not that.

Sorry it's a bit late to help you now and I hope by now you have sorted the aga. I know oil agas need servicing twice a year. I have a gas one and it used to go out every year and needed the thermocouple replaced. Since making sure this is done every service it has been fine the last few years
