Part exchange house to buy new build

I'm waiting for an offer, supposedly was ready on Monday for a deal that expires today. Still no word from the builders. Feels like they're going to rush us because they close for Christmas on Monday. Any top tips, experiences or warnings? Can we make them wait for our answer until after Christmas as they've made us wait for the offer?

I'm currently going through this process I'm just waiting in my second valuation. We are buying with barrett homes the one we have picked is one of the last ones on the site. Any tips hints ect that could be of offered to me would be greatly appreciated
