Electric shower not hot enough

Hi, we recently moved into our house and both (electric) showers worked fine and were great. All of a sudden the main shower is not hot enough. Even if you turn it up really high it only gets luke warm and the pressure doesn't seem strong enough. The other shower is fine.

Any ideas??

that happens in winter

the incoming water is colder, the electric shower has insufficient power to make it hot enough.

combi boilers have the same problem when filling a bath, but not as badly.

if it has a cool, medium, hot setting, try both the cool and the medium setting separately. If either is totally cold, one of the elements has failed.

Is there anything we can do to fix it? Is it a fault with the particular shower (as the other one is fine)?

When we googled the shower make it says that those produced before a certain date have been recalled but we don't know what age our one is.

I think one of the settings did come out cold. How do you fix a failed element?

you can sometimes buy a replacement part, but unless it is a very fine brand, it will be cheaper to bin it and get a new one.

The same brand as your old one is more likely to fit easily.

If you DISCONNECT THE ELECTRICITY SUPPLY and take the cover off, you might find a serial number or other markings.

We have been left an instruction manual-Gainsborough gsx plus. (Googling took us to this page.

Gainsborough is not a premium brand

You might find one on the lower shelves at B&Q

Hismumhermum · 17/12/2014 16:58

Do you think we should contact Gainsborough?

Crossed posts. I see! But it would be easiest to replace with the same?

yes
