Foul-smelling Shower cubicle plughole

Not sure if this is the correct section for this one but I wonder if MNers could help us out please.

Each morning we're waking up to a right ol smell coming up from the plug hole in the shower cubicle.

It's seems to lessen during the day so obviously running water somewhere deals with it temporarily, but what's the permanent solution.

We've bunged all sorts down there, but it's not been solved these past weeks

Any thoughts or recommendations for getting rid of this?

It's horrible...I dunno, maybe somethings died deep down in the pipe or something (shudder), so what will kill the smells/shift the thing permanently?

Thanking you!

First of all, pull the cover off and have a good fish around with a piece of bent wire to pull up any clumps of hair that might be lurking, then block the hole up with a cloth. Run the shower and let the tray fill up. Pull out the cloth and let the water run away. Hopefully the two things together will give it a good flush through and solve the problem. Smile

sink plunger and washing soda.

You haven't got a Saniflo, have you?

How long has it been like that? It might be that the waste pipe is not running downhill.

Apologies, have not thanked you for these...have tried with some success...still not totally cured but thanks for the advice; very much appreciated
