installing new stair case yikes!

We would like to put in a new straight staircase from loft room to landing. The Ioft room was already there but with ladder leading onto box room.
Has anyone done this got any tips or pitfalls to avoid? Any of ballpark costs? Tia

Thanks we need drawings for that I imagine? Any advice on how to choose good builder?

ask local people who've had one done in the last couple of years IF they recommend their builder.
