I'm really struggling to find an emulsion paint to makes these curtains 'pop' (I'm learning the interior design vocab :) Currently the walls are magnolia and they just disappear. I've tried LA 'sage', 'gold', 'pale linen' but none seem right. I think its a difficult fabric to match - any suggestions?

I think to really make them stand out you need to match one of the stronger colours in the fabric, so the burgundy or the purple.

Dark, strong colours like those two close in a space and can make it feel small, or cosy, depending on your perspective.

I would match the background colour on most of the wall then match either the burgundy or the purple on one other wall in the room. Then use accessories in the purple and burgundy to tie everything in together.

That should read, "most of the walls".

Thank you, that sounds like it might be a plan :) The fabric definitely needs 'waking up'
