Architect in Manchester?

I've asked before with no suggestions and after weeks of going round in circles thought I'd try again! We are hoping to do a sidereturn extension and knock through a wall on our Victorian terrace to create a open plan kitchen/ diner. Can anybody recommend an architect (do I need an architect?) or building firm.
I have found companies who specialise in this in London but nothing in the north-west; we are based in South Manchester
Thanks in advance.

My neighbour has just used an architect to do something similar, she's very happy and has given me his number. Although apparently he needs a fair bit of chasing! Can I post his number on here or do you have to Message me? (Not even sure how that works either!)

I can recommend a building firm! IPL construction (google them) based in m15 but cover a wide area. We knocked through our kitchen/diner and some other jobs and they were excellent

Thanks for the IPL recommendation, I will have a look. I'm sure you can post the architect's information on here (unless it's you!)

He's called Damian and his number is 07857656323. That's all I know about him!

We are in South Manchester too and had an architect around from AUD Architects in Hale village. We didn't use him but he was quite creative with his ideas.

Its worth having a look too on the planning section at Trafford Council (if you're in Trafford) - if there are any houses that have had a similar thing done to what you want, you can usually see the planning application / drawings on the planning portal and the architect's details are usually on there with their contact details.

Thanks Mandy, what a good idea. Can you tell I'm pretty clueless about this? Not in Trafford but not far away.
