Can I get a nice kitchen excluding appliances but including tiles and fitting for under �4000??

I have a maximum budget of 4k for a kitchen refit. Keeping my current fridge, cooker, dishwasher and washing machine but need new flooring (got my eye on some nice moroccan style floor tiles pic attached which will cost about 400) worktops, units, sink, tap and cooker hood. Needs to be standard sizes which rules ikea out as trying to do a direct swap layout wise to fit in with the tongue and groove walls. Totally split between modern and handleless or simple shaker but also open to something totally different. Where should I look? I have 15 cabinets is it even possible for that budget? I've got vinyl wrapped mdf doors at the moment and wouldn't be keen on having them again as they have blown and shrunk. Help!

Try Jewsons they are the most competitive we have found. What worktop are you hoping for? That will make a HUGE difference. Our worktop is taking up half our 5.5k budget....

If you do, please let us all know as I am planning on getting a new kitchen (but with some appliances) soon.

I think Benchmarx is cheap and also Howdens (but reasonable quality allegedly)

Does your 4K include fitting though? My budget is 10K so I feel much better now.

We bought our kitchen and had it fitted for 5k from wren last year. It did cover all the base units and new doors for the top cupboards as well as a new sink, tap and work tops.

It does include fitting sadly - I know its not much at all. Was going to spend more but a few other more important jobs have cropped up that need to take priority.

Luckily I'm fairly easy to please worktop wise, I would be happy with laminate or maybe some upcycled / reclaimed wood if I could manage it, scaffold boards or normal floorboards sanded and varnished perhaps??

def shop around for fitting we've had quotes from 500 quid to 3.5k!!! I think you'll be able to do it all for 4k if you're not fussy about worktops.

ooh thought wren would be too expensive. There is a couple there I like....

If you are not changing the unit size or layout maybe the carcasses can be kept.

We're planning an extension and new kitchen on a tight budget and they seem to have pretty good reviews on here. Ive priced up my kitchen to 3.5k excl tiles but 1.5 of that was granite worktop so i'm sure you could come in on budget if you went for a cheaper worktop.

As burnishedsilver says, if you are planning a direct swap then you could save by keeping the units you have and just buying new doors. Should save on fitting costs too.

The units are pretty old as I think they must haw done that last time and a few of the drawers are broken. plus in the previous owners wisdom they put fablon on the sides rather than end panels. I did think diy kitchens looked pretty cheap but then realised their prices are excluding vat.

We bought our units from wickes, our sink and tiles from eBay and our flooring from an independent local seller (couldn't afford tiles for flooring, went for cheap lino but had a rubber lining put underneath so 4 years on its still looking great). We designed and measured it all ourselves and got it fitted by a handyman. Came in well under 4k- and it's a huge kitchen diner area.

When I was working out the price of my tiles I forgot to factor in grout and adhesive. They can add considerably to the cost. Make sure you allow for them.

We had our kitchen fitted by a local joiner, and actually had to have the entire kitchen floor replaced due to a slow leak so much of his £1k invoice was replacing the floor not fitting the kitchen.

Our kitchen cost £4k and was delivered on the date they said it would be and it was all there. Our joiner was also pleased because the units were ready assembled and so it only took him a couple of days to install the whole thing.

Not far away, we live in a village between Newark and Lincoln. I've got a shaker style sage green kitchen. I'll see if I can find some photos of it.

We used diykitchens.com really goid quality and the range is massive. Plus the units come ready made, not flat packed which will save you a lot of money in fitting costs. In fact it halved the fitting time.

Oh dear. dh got involved as the voice of reason and now we have to spend the money on central heating instead! so now I only have £1500 to do a kitchen revamp and that needs to include a new floor

Aw that's a shame OP. Wren do a budget range. My partner fits for them and they are good.
New worktops,doors and floor now then?

Don't know if you currently have a tiled floor, but we put one down in our old house and I hated it as it was so cold - porcelain tiles though. I wouldn't put one down again in a kitchen, would go for Lino. In our new house there are also tiles, but underfloor heating, which is better but still expensive. We also have tiles in both bathrooms and am considering replacing with Lino as so cold underfoot.
