Tiled Floor & Doormats

We are having a tiled floor all the way up to our front door as its all been ripped up and underfloor heating installed. What do people do about a door mat? on top or somehow built in?

Build it into a non-tiled area. I have the heating underneath but a bespoke door mat cut to fit. A local carpet shop fitted it or, if you can, leave the footwell the size of an off the peg mat. The footwell is finished with a metal strip so it looks neat and well finished. Works perfectly. Make sure the door opens over the mat though.

Ive bought a Hug Rug for my front door because you can cut them to fit your doorway entrance as they don't fray, very absorbent and fine on under floor heating. They have plain looking and really nice patterned ones too.

Inset coir doormat. We replaced the laminate flooring in our hall with carpet, but kept the coir doormat and had the edging strip replaced to match the doorstrips we had fitted.
