Rats!!!!

Just saw a cow rat outside our building, by the bins and I'm freaking out!!!

I'm already having cold sweats imagining it getting into the house....
Any suggestion on what can I do, cheaper then the council pest control, which seems to be really pricey?

remove the food supply

overspilling bins, petfood, rat tables bird tables

remove the water supply

pond, leaking pipes or drains, puddles

Find and block up holes

And poison. Lots of little baits, against walls, under sheds and decking etc. You can get plastic cabins that pets can't get into. Keep replenishing it every day. When it stops needing to be replenished, they have all died.

Buy a Jack Russell or a cat

There are more rats in the human race than the animal kingdom
