Please help me revamp a dressing room!

It's an area between our bedroom and the "ensuite" shower room, and it currently consists of fitted wardrobes on either side and a kind of tacky dressing table thingy.

The sliding doors to the fitted wardrobes are rickety, constantly coming off their tracks and generally urgghh looking - I have had enough of them.

I am sure there are companies that can install walk-in wardrobe type efforts, but I don't want to be ripped off because it doesnt need to be THAT posh - e.g. solid wood panelling and David Horne (is that the one that did the sleigh beds for kids that turned into sofas and were meant to be all "heirloom"?) - I do not need all that.
BUT I don't want trashy rubbish either.

OK - I know - I need to get back to John Lewis don't I.
Or do I??
HELP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Our builder has just kitted out a walk in wardrobe with MDF.
It took him a day; 1 wall hanging space & 1 wall shelves.
He said Ikea do the full range if we didn't want MDF.
