Talk to me about your hard flooring please?

I've ordered some samples of Carbonised Bamboo, Oak Engineered and an Oak Laminate. Obv the laminate is half the price (quick step) but it has a thick top layer which has been textured so looks pretty good for the money.

Any recommendations or what to avoid very much appreciated.

I've also ordered some bamboo samples and I really like them. It's cheaper than the wood flooring. Some of the bamboo is solid, and some types can be used over UFH which is what we want it for.

My Mum bought bamboo flooring for her bathroom and it is fabulous!

And it was from B&Q too!

Apparently bamboo is very hard to cut so it is a challenge to lay it. That said, I think we might go for bamboo when we get it done and get it laid professionally.

We have bamboo throughtout most of our house except the stairs and the kids' bedrooms. 5 years in and it still looks great. The guy who laid it went through several saws in the process... Almost better to vacuum than sweep but I do both..
