New boiler? How much?

Just that really - how much do you think a new boiler would be for a 4 bed semi?

About £2,000 - £2,500.

Really? As little as that??

(Just been quoted over 4!)

I'm guessing based on what I paid for a Worcester Bosch combi boiler to be supplied and fitted about 5 years ago. Added a little for inflation.

Get a quote from a local recommended gas fitter, not British Gas or the manufacturers themselves.

Ok - thanks - will do so.
(It was recommended that I don't use a combi in a six person household?)

I'm having my oil combi boiler replaced for £4500 in a couple of weeks. Would have thought gas would be much cheaper as the actual boiler is half the price. I couldn't believe how expensive it would be, but got a couple of quotes and they were very similar. Am living with no heating or hot water until then!

Ok, perhaps start a new thread with title:

"How much for a new boiler for a 6 person household - not combi?"

Thanks for contributions. Will try some local dealers.
