DIY sales and stuff

Ok, I know knowone has a crystal ball but I've never needed to pay attention before.

There are a lot of sales now on for DIY and home stuff. But I always thought of waiting for the Christmas sales.

So what I'm trying to clumsily ask isa, does anyone notice that the sales for DIY and home stuff is better now OR to wait for the Christmas sales? When is the best time to grab a bargain?

Depends upon what you need

Anything I buy I normally google on my phone to find the best web price if it is a reduced bargain just to make sure it actually is

Not a definite best time if year to buy just a case of knowing what you want and how much it normally is

True, I did think I was asking a bit of a daft question. It's just because I've been saying to my husband we will wait till the Boxing Day sales to get some house stuff, but there appears to be sales on everywhere at the moment!

if you find a supplier you like, get on their mailing list and they will try to tempt you to part with your money. There aren't January sales.

Try plumbworld, Screwfix, ironmongerydirect.

Yes worthwhile having to delete the odd email every now and again, I am on vax's email list and get offers through every now and again even get advance notice when they put the clearance website up every so often for a limited time here and there, have had chance of the £400 carpet washers as good but duff boxes for under half price

If you just need general house stuff just a case of shop around and make sure the sale is a real bargain rather than inflated price the month before so they can reduce it to not much less than normal while it appears a big saving

Thanks, and that's a great idea about mailing lists! What prompted me was seeing an offer on the TV for B&Q for paint, 3 for the price of 2 I think, but we are a month away from getting paint and I may change my mind by then ha.

you can create a new email address to receive advertising emails. Delete it when you don't want any more, or set up a spam filter.

I was trying to also work out the cheapest time to get a wood burner installed, I figured a lot of people must get them put in this time of year ready for Christmas, and maybe I'd get a better deal if I waited a bit?
