New Kitchen Dilemma - German Contempory or Painted Shaker Style

MAM48 · 24/10/2014 20:04

I am so indecisive so please help me with this. Extending my Edwardian Semi to make large kitchen/dining/living area. Going with Bi-fold's to garden with Lantern roof.

What style kitchen? I like both the Cubed German look making it Contempory AND I like the the Plain hand painted shaker style (think Neptune style but solid wood built)

If you have done something similar please share your experience/advice

Been waiting to see 'the one' but it is really hard to imagine the finished look.

Please help!!

The brown island is a grain matched walnut, the matt is just as nice and also cheaper to buy.
Underfloor heating is the way to go, we have done this in our last 2 houses.

The effect you are going for sounds very similar to mine!
I have a row of base cupboards on side wall with one open shelf above, a full height 3 width set of cupboards at right angles, then an island. Don't want to post pic here but happy to email
The carcasses are mdf, but with solid wood doors
All chips can be touched up and repainted ( unlike high gloss etc)

If you're in London, mosey on down to wigmore street aka kitchen alley where you can see loads of styles. Promptly fall in love with a 60k then start plotting the sale of a kidney to pay for it Grin

Er, can anyone recommend a joiner?

MAM48 · 26/10/2014 07:45

Will do Apatite as I work in London.

How is your planning going? We should share on Pinterest ? I am spending lots of time scouring that at the moment sod the ironing

Mam, I'm not on Pinterest, I'm mostly looking at Houzz. There's a massive pile of ironing awaiting me now.....
