Hi

We are considering relocating to the Dorchester area, after living in France we moved to Berkshire but due to the extortionate prices cannot find a house we like and I miss being near the sea.We are thinking of relocating to the Dorchester area as my husband works from home and travels, I have 3 daughters aged 13, 7 & 5 and 2 large dogs who love walking so need something with a good quality of life hence choosing Dorset. I noticed a number of older posts about people relocating did it happen and do you have any regrets? We are looking for something semi rural or in a village and closer to the coast, can anyone recommend schools and areas? Any help or places to avoid would be greatly appreciated..

I have replied to other posts on DorchesterGrin live near and love it! Lots of beautiful villages surrounding it. If you head towards Bridport area, villages like loaders or burton bradstock are pretty. Or head the other way, towards Poole you have puddletown, Tolpuddle etc which are lovely (these also have three tier schooling which feed into Thomas Hardy secondary which is highly rated. Some of the rural areas are very rural though!! I know people who have moved from London to the villages but preferred moving into Dorchester as for them this sleepy market town was rural enough!!
