Best exterior paint?

I think I need to stick a quick coat of paint on my (wooden) windows before the weather sets in soonish. They're currently plain white so I'm not too worried about 'heritage' shades, although a nice finish would be good. Mostly I'm looking for something hardwearing. Any suggestions?

Oil paint and oil undercoat is IMO glossier and harder wearing than water paint.

Any bare patches, use Aluminium Wood Primer which is very durable.

White paint does not go yellow outdoors.

I think it is too cold and wet now for outdoor painting. Wood must be fully dry.

Ah, I did wonder if I'd left it too late but thought if we got a dry week I might get away with it. Maybe a job for next spring then. Thanks PigletJohn.
