Or is it something else and green Confused.
I have dining room chairs a similar couloir to this
Would green go with that red ?
I have seen, I can't remember where, pictures of a red sofa and green walls and it looked lovely.
I was thinking of delux willow creek either 2 or 3, as that seems quite close to the couloir I saw somewhere - probably on a photo on Facebook.
I will link in a moment, for some reason my iPad keeps loosing my op whenever I leave this window Hmm
What do you think ?

Tia.

Holly berries seem to go with holly leaves. It's all about the shade and depth blah blah rather than the colour as such

AryaOfHouseSnark · 15/10/2014 19:54

Yes, you're right Edith, thanks, I am not too sure they're the right shade and depth though. Grin

Green and red are opposite on the.colour wheel so they do go together. I think the rhyme is blue and green.

AryaOfHouseSnark · 15/10/2014 20:08

Grin thanks Nikki, I wasn't too sure about the rhyme. So they do go, brilliant. Smile
I actually like blue and green together too though.

I've heard it as 'red and green should never be seen, except upon an Irish Queen'... but I've also heard it as 'Pink and Green should never be seen....' Confused so I've no idea!

But red and green can look gorgeous (just think of lovely rich christmassy colours).

Grin

blue and green should never be seen

AryaOfHouseSnark · 15/10/2014 20:22

Oh the confusion, bloody rhyme.
So do you think these greens would go with this red ? If so which one ? Smile

I'd go for a mossy green with that red - a bit like the ones here.

hmm - don't know how that happened - two moss greens the same - this is the other I intended.

Red and green should never be seen ?
henless · 15/10/2014 21:00

Nope - I wouldn't put those 'fresh' greens with that deep red. I'd go as the PP said, for something mossier / knocked back.

burnishedsilver · 15/10/2014 21:07

It's blue and green that should never be seen. Red and green go very well, particularly at Christmas.

AryaOfHouseSnark · 15/10/2014 21:08

Thanks, I quite like the lighter one. Smile I like it a lot actually
We have a north facing dining room that don't get much light, do you think it will be ok in a darkish room ?

burnishedsilver · 15/10/2014 21:09

Willow Creek is too bright. An olive green would be good.

AryaOfHouseSnark · 15/10/2014 21:13

Thanks, I had an idea it might be, it's such a lovely couloir though
I found these moss colours I like soft moss 3, will have a look for olive greens Smile

Bumping incase anyone has any more suggestions.
I am going to b&q tomorrow to pick up some tester pots, we like soft moss 2 and 3. Do you think they're mossy / knocked back enough ?
I am rubbish at seeing how it will look on the walls and don't want to have a disaster.

henless · 16/10/2014 20:41

The soft moss 4 and 5 are lovely! They should go very well.

henless · 16/10/2014 20:42

sorry - I meant nos 3 and 4.

AryaOfHouseSnark · 16/10/2014 20:46

Smile brilliant thank you.

I quite like the darker colours too, but they would be way too much in my tiny dining room.

OP posts:
Bathtimesoaker · 16/10/2014 23:42

I know the rhyme as blue and green should never be seen, unless there's a colour inbetween.

AryaOfHouseSnark · 17/10/2014 07:46

Grin there are so many variations.

What if the colour in between in red ? Does that work ? Confused

OP posts:
fairyfuckwings · 17/10/2014 07:49

I don't know which colour will go but I have those chairs and they're lovely. Well they were until my cat destroyed them.

VeryLittleGravitasIndeed · 17/10/2014 07:54

Perhaps an avocado colour would work? Or a coffee colour? Excuse the massively posh living room, that's the only photo I could find of the colour I was thinking of!
