Victoria Plumb - too cheap?

Thinking of redoing our very tired en-suite. Would like a "high end" finish but was looking at Victoria Plumb website last night and was absolutely flabbergasted at how cheap their basins and toilets are compared to the ones we have seen elsewhere. What's the catch? Quality? Service? All reviews on their website are glowing but then I guess they wouldn't publish the bad ones. Anyone used them?

I've used Victoria Plumb twice and will be ordering a couple of things for the new house. Our current bathroom and en suite are from there.

The only thing I found was that the soft close seats on both our toilets broke after about 5 years and our bath mixer tap needs replacing but it was a cheap tap and has lasted over 7 years. I think the quality is ok, especially for the price.

Re the service, everything I've ordered arrived on time. My dad had a damaged sink unit and they replaced it within a couple of days. I have read bad reviews but personally I've found them pretty good.

We have a walk in shower in our en suite and it was a cheap shower tray and shower and it has been fine.

I think it depends what you order. Looking at the half price sale, the close coupled and back to the wall loos look fine, but most of the basins are dated and have pedestals. Pedestals expose the pipes and in my view this is not a good look. There were come counter top basins, a few wall hung basins and half pedestals are ok too. I would choose from this list but design is not a strong feature of the sale items. A counter top basin can look good with attractive storage underneath. However, VP won't be a selling point for the house, but price probably outweighs that. The taps looked good.

i like ours. we had two problems: something missing and something broke six months later. they were v good about fixing both things. i dont see how more expense is worth it but then our house is just a standard semi with standard fittings
our plumber likes 'betterbathrooms'

I have had two bathrooms from there. Ceramic ware is really good - loos and sinks have been great. Taps not good though - chrome wore off the bath taps within 6 months.
