hi

family is expanding and before dc1 starts school in 2 years wed like yo look for house. currently live in outer london/kent border and train is 30 mins to dh work in central london. we really cant afford a house in this area but dont want to move crazy out tge way - kent is where wed look (gravesend and dartford a no no as dh and i dont want to live in towns we were born - bad ties). need a nice area as we will be upset to move from where we are and just a short drive from my dad

prob could stretch to £230k

Have you looked at areas along the London-Ramsgate trainline. Not sure how far they've got, but they're improving the line and train times into London are getting much quicker, so house price increase, more people move there bringing better and more facilities.
