1970s windows- how to dress?

I have moved to a house built in the 1970s. Two of the walls in the sitting room are huge glass windows ceiling to floor ( back one opens onto a deck/patio,

While they create a big light space they give no privacy especially at night. The windows have existing vertical blinds ( as do the whole of the street it seems) and while they are practical they look awful.

Any ideas as to how to cover?

IKEA curtains are really long, they should work. You could get one of their double rails, so you can have voiles to pull across during the day if you need to and then thicker curtains for the evening.
