overflow dripping

hi,im a complete numpty where DIY is concerned but thought i may get some help here

my overflow from one of the tanks in my loft is dripping,not 24/7 but a couple of times a day i think when the hot water is on

i have a condenser boiler if that makes any differrence

what do i need to do,and will it steadily get worse if not attended to

It sounds like the washer in the ball cock has worn, replace the whole ball cock is not expensive . In a hard water area it will eventually stain the wall white . You will need some ptfe tape a wrench or mole grip and a spanner.

When fitted test for the level of water ,if too high you just adjust by bending the arm slightly. If it's plastic there will be an adjustment screw

Don't forget to turn off the water beforehand

right ok,this will be something i would not even attempt so i guess im looking at a plumber

any idea how much a plumber would be ??

Well if that's the problem it would take less than an hours labor I would have thought. Guess maybe 80 quid tops.
