Haslemere?

Hi everyone, I live in London and the common thing in my area is to move either to Esher/Weybridge, Godalming or Haslemere. If anyone moves 9/10 those are the places they're moving to! All really nice places! Haslemere is great as you can get a gorgeous 4-5 bed house with character and a good garden for the price of a 3 bed terrace where we are. Far more house for your money than in nice bits of surrey that are closer to london. They're real 'forever' homes. I am interested in hearing from anyone who's moved out that way and thinks it was either a good thing or a really bad thing and they regret it? We're attracted to those areas as they are similar in demographic to where we are now (I know I'll get called stuck up but we like the lifestyle in those places!) and lots of London commuters.

Haslemere is lovely - and actually a shorter commute than many of the bits of Surrey that are closer to London (faster trains and easier to get to the station). I don't live there but I do know at least one family that ended up buying a bedsit back in London so that the husband had somewhere to stay after late meetings/work functions - it's just that bit further out. Also, make sure you budget properly for season tickets/parking as it can be eyewateringly expensive on SE Trains. You are going to find lots of like-minded people down there and you are much closer to amazing countryside than in the other places you mention.
