And worth the money?

Am doing 2 bathrooms and getting totally confused. Budget is reasonable - so what would you recommend? Have looked at hansgrohe raindance showers and that's about it.

thanks!

IMO you need to spend your money on good taps and showers. My favourites are Bristan and Aqualisa respectively. They will make the most difference to the poshness of your new bathroom, and its reliability and durability.

There is not much difference in sanitaryware, but avoid WCs with square or abnormally shaped seats unless your anatomy is similarly novel. Replacements will be impossible to find or very expensive.

Ceramic taps, especially with joysticks, are more troublesome than those with knobs or capstans.

WC cisterns with a button on the top are tiresome to repair. Cisterns that are hidden in the wall are far worse, especially if tiled in. Bath panels that are sealed into place mean they have to be broken out to maintain the waste trap or taps.

Pop-up wastes always leak.

Don't bother with a Matki shower. Ours looked good for about 5 minutes until we got limestone in between the sliding doors.

Am absolutely loving our Abode shower - expensive but good quality & beautiful. We saved some money by going for Pura heads/riser as recommended by someone we know.
We have a Mira excel shower in the kids bathroom which was in our shower room before but as it was in perfect nick just not as fancy we relocated it. It's very reliable & easy to buy spares for (I bought a new riser rail)
Really rate kalweidei (sp?) steel baths - had one for 10yrs and it looked brand new, so as we left it in our old house, I've got another one here.
Lakes shower cubicles so far seem to have been worth the money.
