We have put a single storey extension across the back of our terraced house. The doorways are open so just two archways (that aren't arches iyswim) coming on one side from a galley kitchen and from the other our old living/dining room. We have continued the kitchen out into the extension with a little breakfast bar island thing but I'm not sure what to do with the area that follows on from the living/dining room.
Choices are:
Dining table in extension so it would be breakfast bar on one side, table on the other. Then lounge next to it in old part of house and a sectioned off (using furniture) play area at the back of the lounge in old dining area.
Or
Keep dining area at back of lounge and in extension have some chairs and a table or a sofa or something (what?! Help!) and then toddler can continue to store stuff under stairs and just play in the space.
Back of our lounge has no natural light at all, only natural light comes from the sliding doors in the extension and Veluxs above. Back of lounge is therefore quite dark. We also have a phenomenal view out so don't really want to block it. Worried we won't use the dining table much and therefore wasting the best room in the house. Putting sofa in extension would mean it was very close to the one in the lounge and therefore could look like DFS....
Any suggestions or ideas gratefully received. Apologies for the long post
