Chalk paint and grim 80's fitted wardrobes?

Would chalk paint cover/stick to the surface of hideous fitted wardrobes? The surface is shiny and cream in one room and a rather fetching British racing green in the other.

I have successfully re-painted some v. plastic looking orange and navy cupboard doors in our bathroom.

I used a special undercoat for painting over melamine furniture (I did 2 coats because it was pretty watery and runny) and then used some F&B eggshell I had kicking about in Shaded White.

Changed the knobs and it looks great - I did take the doors off to do it though, I think I would have had more drips otherwise, so you need somewhere to lay them out.

Great thanks, they are dodgy as anything but extremely useful.
