auto lamp plug things

I want to get these for table lamps in my home, can I use them safely with 2 gang extension leads off them ? The Siemens product in the wall and the extension plugged in from there.

Will they still work as intended (so long as they are not overloaded) ?

Thank you

in the UK, all normal domestic plugs contain a fuse, so it is very difficult to overload them unless wrongly used. If they do overheat, it is usually due to a poor connection of wire to the terminal in the plug or socket.

If you are using them with lamps, it is better to fit a 3A or 5A fuse rather than the 13A (brown) fuse usually fitted in the factory. It means the fuse will blow more easily in the unlikely event of a fault.

BTW avoid remote or timer switching for electric heaters, except oil-filled radiators, as flammable things sometimes fall on them and might not be noticed.

Thank you, that's really helpful.

I wouldn't be using these auto switches for anything other than table lamps.
