Our living room is desperately needing decorated. It's totally bland and uninspiring-we've had various shades of cream for at least 15 years!
It's so bland I just feel totally blocked for inspiration.
I've attached some photos so you can see just how bland it is, and would love to hear anyone's ideas.
The sofas will be swapped with dark brown leather ones from another room, and the coffee table/console table/lamp table will be staying.....it's basically walls, curtains/blinds/cushions which I can afford to do just now....
The only colours which are a definite no are purple and red.
The room's south facing so can afford cool colours...anyone feeling inspired?.....please...!

The throws on the sofas as just dog-proofing!

Oooh - how exciting! How about choosing a lovely fabric for roman blinds, with a bit leftover for cushions? Then pick out one colour from the fabric, to paint the walls. And another colour for some more cushions. That will tie everything together, and give a theme to the room.

You have lots of photos on all the surfaces. What about creating a photo gallery, perhaps going up the stairs? That would give real impact. Then you could have a few ornaments, flowers, etc to match the new colour scheme.

Lots of inspiration at Sanderson Fabrics

"Desperate" is obviously an exaggeration Hmm

We just looked at a house which has red curtains and they have pale green walls, a brown sofa, red candles and red upright floor lamps. They had a laminate floor and a red rug in the middle and nice bright artwork on the walls (the woman is an artist) which really made the room.

Yes, I know you said not red, but as it's accessories it's not too much - I don't like red either but it looked lovely.
