Hi, the previous owners of our house had extra TV points installed through the house and we don't want them, basically they are not fixed TV points but just cables which come through the ceiling, I have tried finding the other end in the loft thinking I could just pull it through but no joy. Can I just cut them off? Not sure if they would give me an electric shock or not! Thanks.

yes. There is no electrical current running through them unless someone has done something REALLY stupid!
