Moving to Stanway - advice on a few things if possible?

Hello everyone

Just joined the site as we have just had an offer accepted on a property in Stanway on London Road and I am after some advice. My DH is now worrying about traffic and planned developments in the area but it's hard to find any info.

Can anyone give me some advice so I can pass to him and win him back from the computer :)

1. What's the traffic like around 7.30am along London Road between Stanway and Marks Tey station. How long should he allow in the morning?
2. There is a planned development on Wyvern farm for some 300 houses apparently...does anyone know much about this...will it significantly increase the traffic on London Road heading to Marks Tey Station?
3. They are developing the quarry around the Fruitfarm area and also putting some 600 houses there too. Does anyone know if there is much HGV traffic on London Road heading towards Marks Tey due to the quarry or is their planned to be.

Really appreciate any advice/thoughts anyone can give me.

Hi, I think you need to post this on a local board as most people on here wouldn't have a clue where Stanway is.

Have a look and see if there is a Mumsnet local board for Colchester or Norgh East Esssex.
