Megaflo or another vented cylinder

Hi - not sure if anyone can help? We're about to start major renovations and one of the first jobs is adding a vented cylinder for hot water. (Am removing aga which currently provides hot water)

Now I had previously been recommended megaflo but the plumber I saw yesterday reckons we could get just as good but cheaper if not megaflo. Any thoughts?

Obviously would be good to pay less if we could but we have waited a while to start work and I want what we do to be really good so don't want to cut any corners.

Yes, there are several brands. Megaflo is well known, like people say "Hoover" when they mean vacuum cleaner.

You will be getting a UK made pressurised cylinder, in stainless steel, with a long warranty.

What are the flow and pressure figures from the plumber's tests?

Megalflo is UNvented, is that what you meant?

We have a megaflop system, it is great. We had it put in about 6 years ago but just took the plumber's word for it, we did not compare with other brands.

Unless megaflo have a patent on the technology I would assume that other brands would be similar.

I can't remember what the results of pressure was but it was excellent apparently.

Anyone have any experience of the worchester cylinder? Everyone always seems to recommend the boiler but for cylinders it's always the megaflo.. Is there a reason for that?

Ps loving megaflop.. My autocorrect has just done the same and it's amused me no end

Our heating engineer (who I have a lot of regard for) recommended a Joule over a Megaflow. I'd originally specified a Megaflow and he suggested the Joule as (a) was considerably cheaper, and (b) anecdotally he had experienced less issues with them. Suspect they are much of a muchness.
