Which kitchen - shaker style

I'm really looking for some info from anyone who has recently had a kitchen installed by Neptune, Higham or Devol or anyone else for that matter. We are currently doing a large kitchen extension L-shape 4m x 4m x 2m with an island, plus utility I'm keen to understand what is a realistic budget. We started at £12k and soon realised that was not going to cover it. Has anyone done something similar? I particularly like the handless shaker by Higham, but I've not yet had a quote.

I'm currently planning the kitchen for our new house and I'm pretty certain that £12000 would be no where near enough for a kitchen from those companies.

Does that amount have to include appliances and any tiling/flooring?

We're having a painted inframe shaker kitchen with oak worktops, then cheaper but similar doors in the utility and for the units, worktops , sink and tap it is approx £3600 from DIY-kitchens. Thats for 3.7m x 3.2.

DIY-Kitchens is much cheaper than high street kitchen stores, the equivalent in Magnet was over. £10000. I'm guessing but the companies you mentioned I think would be at least £12000 just for units.

I think you'll be looking north of £20k. I am planning the same style but we are using a local company who are building bespoke cupboards to fit our wonky kitchen - still cheaper than Neptune. We have compromised on mdf carcasses with painted wooden doors. I wish we had been organised enough to use the place down in Christchurch that makes wooden cupboards to your exact spec but they are booked up until Feb 15 and our builder starts here in three weeks!! I think it would be a mistake to compare Neptune to the others. Neptune is pretty poorly made chinese stuff and it would be grossly unfair to compare their product to DeVol or Higham.

That said, I dont think you will get an inframe kitchen from any quality joinery for £12k for just the furniture (for your kitchen size). More like £15-£20k.

Thanks, yes was thinking more like 20k and that excludes appliances and flooring. Thanks for the Stoneham link, just found a great kitchen on their, so just need to see about a quote. Was just curious to see if anyone had installed a Devol or Higham?

As a kitchen designer/retailer I can say I have seen DeVol kitchens. They are very bespoke and quite expensive but very good and innovative designs.

Really like the Stoneham Darwin range. Been to a few showrooms, but nobody seems to give you a guide on price without doing the whole design process. Does anyone know what this range costs on average? If it's going to be more than 20k I would rather not waste the designers time.

Its definitely possible. I'd say 12-13k onwards for a Darwin kitchen furniture only plus worktops, appliances etc.

I noticed the reference to handmadekitchens-direct in Christchurch. Does anyone have any experience of using them ?
