Family bathroom with no bath?

We are just about to refit our family bathroom. Nobody uses the bath ever. (we have two other bathrooms and each has a bath (that nobody uses either Grin). Do you think it will be a mistake to refit the bathroom with a really enormous beautiful shower? And LSE the bath altogether? At the moment there is a 2m long bath with hand shower & taps. A basin. A loo. And a 800mm sq shower recess. Which is kind of small considering the use it gets.

I though we could make the shower recess a floor to ceiling cupboard. Then swap the bath for a beautiful shower.

Woukd this be off putting to buyers if we suddenly decided to sell our house?

I suppose to me yes it would be because I like houses to have baths, especially with young children but perhaps you have another bathroom with a bath in in which case it doesn't really matter and at the end of the day you are the ones living there so it has to be what suits you. Would it put off buyers? yes potentially if they were like me or were first time buyers without the money to do anything but equally there will be plenty who would think 'yes, lovely modern bathroom, perfect' so I don't think that should stop you making it the way you want it.

I think if you have two other baths then it would be good to have a larger shower and storage instead.

I said the other day that another thread was the definition of a first world problem. I think I might need to transfer that title. Wink

If there are 2 other baths, and you never use them, just go for it. The 'rainforest' type showers are amazing.

I think if you have two other baths it's not a problem. Are rainforest showers the ones with a fixed square head that you stand under? You see, I hate those Grin Basically you have to do what you want now - there will always be someone with different preferences and you are lucky to have three bathrooms
