If you want less gather then you want two around 125cm,at least

hi thanks for answering it gets complicated because when you pull the header tape it wouldn't meet?if I do that havent I only got fabric for the width so when pulled it wouldn't meet?

It comes down to how much gather you want. 125 would give no gather at all. I don't like flat curtains but you did say less gather. Personally I like loads of gather so would have two 228. Anything in between would work.

Honestly, I think no gather at all looks odd: I certainly wouldn't have less than 2x150cm. If you have most of the space one side, you could have one big curtain, anchored that side.

It should be possible to loosen the gather, so the header tape would meet. Header tape has cords running it's length. It's sewn flat to the curtains, then the cords pulled tight to gather the tape. You should be able to untie the knots and (carefully, so you don't unthread the cords!) flatten the tape enough that the curtains span the width you want.

Occasionally, cheap curtains are gathered, and the cords trimmed to the knot. That's incredibly annoying, because you should be able to loosen the gather to wash them. If you have any modicum of skill with a sewing machine and a seam ripper, it's very easy to replace the header tape.
