Oil/wax/varnish original pine doors?

Our edwardian internal pine doors (unpainted) need a bit of TLC. We're planning to fill the holes and sand down with some wire wool but not sure what to do next. We want them to look as natural as possible. Should we oil, varnish or wax? Help!

I did some doors with brushing wax, I used a rolled up sock of all things goes on better.
I used Ronseal medium oak really nice on pine. It's still a pine look but a warmer shade. Brushing wax does not like water though , you get lighter rings of color if you don't get it off quick. The beauty of it it's quick to dry too only a few minutes. I think I paid 16 quid for the 750 ml tin. Would do several doors. You could brush on and buff if you wanted
