Our boiler is on its last legs and we need to buy a new one. Does anyone have one that they'd recommend? Thanks x

Do you want a combination boiler or one where you need a hot water tank?
We had a combi boiler fitted last September, a Worcester Bosch, and are really pleased with it.

Sorry for the late reply. Thanks, Suze - a few people I've spoken to have recommended Worcester Bosch so that's on the list.

fill a bucket at the cold tap on your kitchen sink, time it, calculate how many litres per minute it delivers. If you have a garden or utility room tap, do it there as well in case you get a different figure. Tell us what it is.

have you got a hot water cylinder at the moment? What colour is it?

How many bathrooms and showers have you got; and how many people are likely to live in the house and turn taps on at the same time?

Is it a house or a flat?

Get at least 3 quotes from local boiler/heating installers. People with good reputations who have been in business in your area for a long time.
They must be on the Fas safe register.
You could put your postcode into Gas Safe Register website to get a very long list. Listen to their advise. They might all give different advice for different reasons, so do ask questions and when you get the quotes don't just go with the cheapest but make sure you are comparing like for like.

Worcester is one of the main brands but there are other good ones. There are some to avoid too so find out what the installers suggest and then post again. Also hopefully you will get a 5 or more years warranty.
